How ECU remapping works on a petrol Porsche Boxster

A petrol remap re-works the engine management calibration: air-fuel ratio, ignition advance and boost where fitted. The result is more power and a more immediate throttle, delivered by software rather than hardware changes.

Ranked by power gain against the other petrol Boxster engines (10 in total), the S 252(986) is 6th, exactly the Boxster petrol average.
